We Tried to Make Bluey Biscuits

When the kids would finish their school work at home, it was common for us to release the tension of the day by watching an episode or two of Bluey.

Bluey is an animated kids show which follows the adventures of a Blue Heeler puppy called Bluey. She lives with her mum, dad and sister and the interactions and funny situations are a delight for both kids and parents to watch.

The Sticky Gecko episode was certainly one I could relate to as a mum.

Because my kids love Bluey so much, we decided to try and make Bluey biscuits.

They don’t look exactly like Bluey, but we had delicious fun making our creations.

The kids thought they looked more like Bandit (the dad) than Bluey. But hey, it was fun and engaging with the kids and who doesn’t love experimenting in the kitchen?

Instructions

1. Melt white chocolate until it’s smooth. I did 20 sec bursts in the microwave. I find white chocolate fiddly to melt so do shorter bursts to prevent from burning.

2. Cut your Toblerone to create the ears. If using block chocolate, cut a square in half diagonally. I think the block chocolate works better than the Toblerone.

3. Add food colouring to your white chocolate and spread smoothly on the biscuit. (Keep some white chocolate to make Bingo, Bluey’s sister)

4. Add the chocolate ears, jelly bean eyebrows, edible eyes and nose. The nose can be created by icing a dark choc chip onto a white choc melt bud.

5. Use black icing to pipe on a mouth. You can buy pre-made pipe icing in the baking aisle at your local grocery store.

The biscuits make for a fun morning or afternoon tea activity. You could even make a biscuit decorating station at your Bluey themed Birthday party.
